Polymarket CEO Shayne Coplan Becomes Youngest Self-Made Billionaire Amid Crypto Boom
Shayne Coplan, the 27-year-old founder and CEO of prediction market platform Polymarket, has been recognized by Bloomberg as the youngest self-made billionaire. His net worth surged following a $2 billion investment from Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), owner of the New York Stock Exchange, which valued Polymarket at $9 billion.
Coplan now joins the ranks of crypto billionaires like Binance's Changpeng "CZ" Zhao, MicroStrategy's Michael Saylor, and Coinbase's Brian Armstrong. Notably, wallets linked to Bitcoin creator Satoshi Nakamoto—valued at $134.5 billion by Arkham Intelligence—would place the pseudonymous figure as the world's 12th-richest person.
Polymarket's success stems from its user-friendly crypto prediction markets, positioning it among the decade's most impactful decentralized applications. "Against all odds," Coplan tweeted, marking his milestone with characteristic understatement.
